This Aberdeen based oil service company had just received venture capital funding to assist the business implement its international growth plans. Invited to act as Scottish Equity Partners Non Executive Director representative due to KPC's MD's prior experience in the oil and gas sector.
The Assignment

The Assignment
- Undertake corporate governance duties for board and institutional shareholder
- Act as a sounding board an mentor for MD and management team
- Assist MD grow business in UK, US and Far East
The Plan
- Undertake a hands-on Non Exec role and provide solid operational support to MD
- Assist MD recruit Financial Controller and implement improved financial management
- Oversee expansion and office moves in UK, Houston, Singapore and Brazil
- Expand role and responsibility as company grows
The Results
- Acted as a Non Executive Director for 3 years and Non Executive Chairman for a further 3 years
- Worked on successful exit processs and assisted board to return shareholder funds to venture capital investor
- Assisted MD to recuit key personnel in UK and overseas locations including Singapore
- Added shareholder value over a 6 year period
